HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — PHLV Radio, the Las Vegas–based Filipino American media network, was named Fil‑Am Media of the Year at the 9th Amerika Prestige Awards held Saturday at the Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, California.

A delegation from Las Vegas attended the ceremony in full support of PHLV Radio’s mission to elevate Filipino American voices across the United States. President and CEO Johann Sayson accepted the trophy on behalf of the station, delivering a message centered on community, purpose, and cultural storytelling.
“PHLV Radio is deeply honored to receive this recognition,” Sayson said. “This award reflects the stories, the passion, and the community that continue to shape who we are. To our team, partners, and listeners—your belief in our mission inspires us to keep amplifying Filipino American voices across every platform.”
The Amerika Prestige Awards annually recognizes outstanding individuals and organizations in arts, culture, business, and community leadership. The Fil‑Am Media of the Year category highlights media outlets that demonstrate excellence in representation, cultural impact, and service to the Filipino diaspora.

For PHLV Radio, the honor underscores its expanding role as a multiplatform media hub—from radio and livestream programming to podcasts, community coverage, and digital storytelling. Its lineup of shows spans news, public affairs, entertainment, health, immigration, and cultural programming, all designed to strengthen Filipino American identity and visibility in the broader American landscape.
The station’s mission-driven approach has made it a central voice for Fil‑Am communities in Nevada and beyond, connecting audiences across states and even across continents. Saturday’s recognition, Sayson noted, reinforces PHLV Radio’s commitment to telling stories that matter and building a media space where Filipino Americans see themselves reflected with pride.
“This honor reminds us why we do what we do,” Sayson added. “PHLV Radio will continue to stand proudly as a home for Filipino American storytelling, connection, and community.”
