Behind PHLV Radio
About PHLV Radio
PHLV Radio brings the spirit of Philippine radio to Las Vegas, offering Filipino Americans a familiar and deeply rooted cultural experience. In Filipino culture, radio has long held a romantic place in the collective imagination. From the era of radio dramas and superhero-style voiceovers to the rise of Manila Sound and disco, radio has been a constant companion in Filipino life.

Filipino-American immigrants often recall the classic voices and programs that shaped their early memories. Philippine radio carries a rich legacy of music, storytelling, and public service—an archive of voices that continues to resonate across generations.

PHLV Radio recreates that experience in Las Vegas, where listeners can enjoy karaoke on air, live shout-outs, and panawagan (public service announcements). It’s more than nostalgia—it’s a living tradition.

Streaming 24/7 from its studio at 3909 South Maryland Parkway in Las Vegas, Nevada, PHLV Radio is owned and operated by Parkway Media Partners LLC, a company specializing in digital content production and distribution. Its programming is primarily distributed through the PHLV Radio App, available for free on the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android platforms. Select segments are also available as part of the PHLV Radio Podcast Series on iTunes, iHeartRadio, TuneIn, Spreaker, and Spotify.
PHLV Radio has built a vibrant community of over a hundred storytellers, all united by a shared mission: to amplify the Filipino narrative in the United States. The station is led by President and CEO Johann Sayson, operating out of its Las Vegas headquarters. Its programming team includes veteran broadcast journalist Diogenes Rex Ricarte, formerly of Manila Broadcasting Company; award-winning news presenter Bev Llorente of The Filipino Channel; three-time Emmy winner Patranya Bhoolsuwan; and beloved Filipino celebrity Josie Harrison, mother of comedian Jo Koy. Adding creative depth to its menu of programs is Emmy winner Jana Sayson, whose artistic sensibility helps shape the station’s evolving voice and visual identity. Many other contributors bring their unique voices and perspectives to the platform, creating a dynamic and inclusive media space.

Awards and Media recognition
PHLV Radio was recently named Fil-Am Media of the Year at the Amerika Music Awards in Hollywood, California. Its founder and CEO, Johann Sayson, was also honored as a TOFA Awardee (The Outstanding Filipino Awards) in October 2024 in Hawaii.
The station has been featured on NBC affiliate KSNV Channel 3 and ABC affiliate KTNV Channel 13 in Las Vegas, as well as on the State of Nevada program on KNPR 88.9 FM, an NPR station.

PHLV Radio continues to serve as a cultural bridge, connecting generations and communities through the power of "visual radio". Its Las Vegas studio, located at 3909 S Maryland Parkway Suite 215, remains the heart of its operations and the home of its growing storytelling network.
