Nevada-based Fil-Am women honored by NaFFAA NV and FACCGN in celebration of Women’s History Month


The National Federation of Filipino American Associations - Nevada (NAFFAA) and the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Nevada (FACCGN) honored the accomplishments of this year’s Women’s History Month awardees. The diversity of the awardees demonstrates that Fil-Am women have made tremendous strides in a variety of sectors. The honorees have achieved success in a variety of areas, such as business, education, community service, entertainment, and the arts. This year's recipients are Julie Ann Torremoro (healthcare), Anna Ladao (professional), Marilyn Ante (public service), Janine Sangalang (education), The Filipiniana Dance Company of Las Vegas (performing arts/cultural), Kate Recto of Kate's Koffee (business), Mildred Cadag of Cafe De Manila (business), and Mila Paglinawan of CMC boutique (business). The Lifetime Achievement Award was given posthumously to Fatima (Pat) Magallanes. Loni Andal was also given a special tribute.


These women have made a lasting impact on their respective fields and have served as inspiring role models for future generations. These awards recognize the many contributions made by Fil-Am women to the growth and development of the ever-growing Filipino American community in Nevada. The joint NAFFAA and FACCGN awards ceremony was held Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the +6350 FilAm Central in Las Vegas. The mother of popular comedian JoKoy and PHLV Radio producer/host, Josie Harrison, delivered an emotional keynote address that highlighted the strength and resilience of the Filipino woman.
